Rubber Compound:

• Dual Compound: Two different rubber compounds are integrated into the tread strip.

• The arrangement of these compounds is planned according to the desired tire properties.

• (Note: The Assegai is also available in MaxxTerra and MaxxGrip triple compounds, which offer different grip/wear characteristics).

Casing/Carcass:

• 60 TPI (Threads Per Inch): This casing density is common for this version, offering a balance of strength and flexibility.

• Wide Trail (WT) Casing: The tire’s construction is optimized for use with modern, wider rims (specifically for 30–40mm inner widths, with an optimal width of 35mm) to maintain an optimal tread profile and tire shape.

• Folding Bead: The tire uses a flexible, foldable bead.

Protection:

• EXO Protection: An extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material is added to the sidewalls.

• This material is densely woven, light, and flexible to ensure the tire’s performance remains unaffected while enhancing durability.

Tubeless Technology:

• Tubeless Ready (TR): The tire’s bead is fully covered with a rubber layer, similar to a UST tubeless tire, to lock securely to a tubeless-compatible rim.

• This design allows riders to run lower air pressures for improved traction and reduced rolling resistance while lowering the risk of pinch flats (with the use of sealant).
